A Note About Beehive Studios...

Hi Everyone...

I wanted to take a moment to post regarding Beehive Studios

Recently it was revealed that Ninaste and Derzi had "created" CU elements that were a copy of Neopets, which is obviously a huge no-no.

There has been a huge outcry against these two people and it got nasty. So nasty, they have closed their doors and decided to not refund people who paid for original CU elements. I feel this is not only irresponsible, but obviously makes them both look even more guilty.

I am not here to judge, but I do thank the PSP community for making everyone aware of this issue. As someone who strives to be copyright compliant, this saddens me.

At one time I CT'd for Beehive Studios, that is why you see tutorials from them on this site.

I struggled with whether or not to remove the tutorials. In the end I decided that the tutorials will stay as I worked my butt of to create the tags and the tutorials.

You will no longer be able to purchase the tubes used to create the tags, and I am not entirely sure that the matching kits used in some of the tutorials are still available. However, I feel tutorials are not really supposed to be followed to letter and most definitely not pushing you to buy the kit/tube so it can be an exact replica. I hope you can still have fun using the tutorials.

This incident is unfortunately the dark side of the PSP world.

We rely on artists and scrapkit makers to be honest with all of us and make products that are copyright compliant. I trusted Ninaste and Derzi, just as many of you did and I am sadden that they burned many of you. I hope in the end they will do the right thing.

Thank you for reading my note and have a great day!

Crowe Halloween Collab #4 (K.I.T.)

This tutorial will be a little bit different from the rest of my tutorials.

I don't use templates a lot, but once in a while I find one I like.

OK. Let's get started.

First you will need to visit Dangerously Delicious Designz to grab the template I am using

The one I have chosen to use is Collab #2

Open the template and Shift+D to duplicate the template, so you don't use the original.
Close the original template.

The nice thing about templates is you can pretty much do what you like with them.

I am going to use a kit to create my tag, but you don't have to.

The kit I chose to use is part of Arthur Crowe's 2014 Halloween Collab by Niqui's Designs
This fantastic collab is available for $5.00. Go and grab one now!

With the template open start flood filling or use the papers in the kit you are using.

I used a variety of papers from the kit I chose.

They are:
Paper 1
Paper 2
Paper 3
Paper 4
Paper 7
Paper 10

To use papers, Go to Selections - Select All - Float - Defloat
Choose a paper and paste as a new layer. Invert and hit delete on your keyboard. Select None.

Do this with each element on the template, until you are happy with the result.

If you choose to flood fill the different elements, you would repeat the steps above,
but add a new layer before flood filling, then select none.

To save on size, delete the original layer you replaced with the paper or flood filled layer.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO SAVE YOUR PROGRESS

Now add a tube of your choice.

I chose Colorful Halloween by Arthur Crowe. I purchased this tube from PTE which is no longer open.
Arthur has a wonderful website offering even more of his artwork. Visit his site at Arthur Crowe's Factory

Place your tube choice where you would like. I placed mine close to the center.

I added color to the words with Eyecandy 4000 Gradient Glow. I used #d63795 for the color.

Now start adding your elements to create your tag!

I used Elements:

14
18
24
26
27

Once you are happy with the layout of your tag, SAVE!

Don't forget to add any last minute drop shadows if you wish!

Resize tag if you would like as well!
